My name is Simon Perry and I am from Lincolnshire in the UK. My major was in history and I worked for some years in a museum in London before switching to language education. I completed my masters in applied linguistics at UCL and PhD in sociolinguistics at Waseda University. I research issues related to sociolinguistics, particularly language policy, ELF, and translanguaging. I am currently writing about non-native English speaking teachers and their human capital.
