Hello and welcome! I'm from the U.K, but I've travelled to several different countries over the years, including a year spent working in Australia and a month in the U.S.A. I originally read English literature at the University of Kent at Canterbury (birthplace of Christopher Marlowe and destination of the pilgrims in Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales) in England, and then studied a Masters in linguistics at Southampton (an English city port famous for being the original point of departure of the Mayflower and the Titanic). I've now been teaching English in Japan for over 10 years, originally in Chiba prefecture, and more recently in Tokyo. At TWCU I teach communication, discussion, writing and senior seminar courses, and several of these classes will include focus on English & American literature and cultural criticism which I hope will help students improve their overall reading, writing and cultural awareness skills. If you are interested in learning more about these subjects please take my classes.
