My home in the United States is the great state of Maine, up above Boston near Canada. Maine is famous for lobster and Stephen King, the prolific writer of contemporary Gothic novels. I started my teaching career as a Peace Corps Volunteer (similar to the Japanese organization, JAICA) in Africa and later was a Fulbright lecturer in Mauritania and Hungary. I've also taught at universities in Saudi Arabia and, of course, the United States. My specialties in American literature are Ezra Pound, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Edgar Allan Poe, and American poetry in general. Besides pursuing academic interests, I enjoy spending time outdoors in the green world. If you want to learn about American literature, please take my classes.
