I am originally from Washington state in the northwest part of the United States. As an undergraduate at the University of Washington in Seattle I studied English Literature with a focus on modern American literature. After that I studied Secondary English Education at Western Washington University in Bellingham. In Seattle I taught English literature and journalism in high school. I have been teaching in Japan for more than 18 years. I first taught as an Assistant Language teacher in Saitama for two years and have been teaching at the university level for the last 15 years. This year I will be teaching writing, Communication Skills, and Discussion Skills. I have a wide range of interests besides reading-film (especially Japanese cinema), travel (I have been to 40 countries), history, current events, music, eating and drinking out. I am looking forward to meeting students and starting my career at TWCU.
