I grew up in New Zealand, and I've also lived in Australia and Holland. My research interests include feminist philosophy and, in English literature, the short story. Currently, I am co-writing a book of political philosophy and cultural geography that examines the social significance of public spaces and places such as streets, parks and squares. I also like to think and write about walking, specifically the cultural and physical practice of walking, and I think Tokyo is one of the best cities in the world for walking, especially for variety.
